The foremost planning and design goal for the Prescott is to ensure that the massing and scale of the building appear as a natural extension of the fabric of three historic neighborhoods. The result of these design goals is a building of varying height as it relates to the typically lower-scale vernacular townhouses of the adjacent historic districts.  Subsequently the building was designed to have the appearance of multiple buildings of varying architectural styles as prevalent in the neighboring historic districts.  Skillful site planning and design, such as living space within dormered pitched roofs and top floor setbacks, maximize livable space while minimizing scale and height impact on the neighborhood.
