Urban Planning
Hill East Waterfront
Project Location
Washington, DC
Hill East is a 67-acre waterfront mixed-use development designed to organize more than 3,000,000 SF of commercial, civic and residential uses on the east side of Capitol Hill around the green, open spaces of the Anacostia River.
Inspired by the original planning vision of Washington DC, this project is a natural extension of the city’s evolution - reinforcing the vistas towards the water and creating new monument. Experts in redevelopment, renovation and adaptive re-use, Lessard Group designed the master plan and architecture for this major redevelopment project.
Hill East has been designed to organize retail, townhomes, condos, affordable rental housing and parking on the east side of Capitol Hill around the green, open spaces of the Anacostia River. The Metro Plaza will connect existing neighborhoods to the new and lend a vibrant attitude to the area through shops, cafés, wide sidewalks, unique facades and the Village Square Park built around C Street, Water Street, and Massachusetts and Independence Avenues.
