About Lessard

The Lessard Group Inc. is an award-winning and internationally recognized architectural and urban design firm specializing in mixed-use, residential and commercial developments.  Established in 1986, Lessard has continuously offered clients the luxury of one-stop-shop project services without sacrificing quality or creativity. Our history of quickly creating visually stunning yet practical projects on-budget has earned Lessard the reputation as a leader in the architectural world.

Lessard’s depth of experience combined with innovation has positioned it as an industry leader in the development of practical and affordable design solutions.  The firm’s driving force is to exceed clients’ expectations in quality, value and reliability while producing outstanding design.  Lessard’s planning and design approach centers on a harmonious union of aesthetics, functionality and cost-effectiveness. Our experienced team expertly manages client projects from the feasibility and strategy stage all the way through to actual construction and interior design.  We excel at working through project strategies with our clients and discovering entrepreneurial solutions to any challenges.  Our work include: mixed and multi-use projects, town centers, retail, office, high and mid-rise multifamily housing, townhomes, single family residences, urban infill projects, historic developments, military privatization, renovation projects and affordable housing.

Lessard Technology
Lessard utilizes CAD and networks its graphic workstations with laser and ink-jet plotters. By quantifying areas, our systems allow the design team to confirm program dimension and create links between mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and architectural drawings. Consequently, base plans need to be drawn only once, after which the CAD system provides checks for accuracy and coordination of the consultants’ work. It also increases productivity during a project’s Construction Documents phase. Additional computerized tools for project delivery include Microsoft Project, Microsoft Schedule, R.S. Means and Marshall Evaluation Service.

The addition of the Building Information Modeling process fundamentally changed the role of computation in Lessard architectural design.  We now use computers to produce a single, unified representation of a building so complete that it can generate all necessary documentation. Autodesk Revit Architecture, for instance, allows changes made in elevations to propagate automatically through every plan, section, callout, and rendering of the project. Using Revit Architecture, we take advantage of “I-information” in BIM, where we can compare programmatic data to projected data in a snap and make appropriate changes. A data-rich model means that more analysis and iterative searching (low cost energy, low construction pricing, etc…) for optimal solutions can occur early in our design process.  The entire process makes us more accurate and time efficient during the entire lifecycle of the project.

We use visualization tools such as 3D Viz and 3D Max for modeling studies and virtual tours. Our graphic design presentation software includes Squiggle, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator used during the early design stages for developing perspectives. These enable clients to fully visualize each design alternative.
